Anointing of the Sick

The Catholic Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick, formerly known as Last Rites or Extreme Unction, is a ritual of healing appropriate not only for physical but also for mental and spiritual sickness.

The Anointing of the Sick is offered by request for those of advanced age, those with serious illnesses, or anyone who is facing surgery or medical procedures.

Due to the Privacy Act, hospitals may not notify us when a parishioner is admitted. A relative or close friend of the patient needs to notify the church office at 708-748-6686 to request an anointing for someone who is seriously ill in the hospital or at home.
